Birch is a creamy white to pale tan in colour and has a fine even texture with a straight grain which is easy to use. In spite of being a deciduous tree the wood of Birch is soft, making it useful for making everyday objects such as cups and bowls, broom-sticks, furniture, barrel staves, bobbins, clogs, toys and so on.
