Olive ash is the dark heartwood that is present in some European ash trees. Whether brown or black, olive ash is valued for generating a highly decorative figure that is extremely useful for veneer. It is used primarily to manufacture architectural and high-end furniture. It is also used to make handles of striking tools, as well as sporting equipment, such as baseball bats, racquets, hockey sticks, cues, cricket stumps and polo mallet heads.
